How to fix the Err_Connection_Reset error

In certain rare cases, you may see the following error (Err_Connection_Reset Error) and/or cannot access

ESET ant-virus

The ESET anti-virus is known to block TLS 1.2 secured pages. Please follow these steps in order to whitelist the domain: 

  1. Open ESET
  2. Click "Setup"
  3. Click "Internet Protection"
  4. Click the gear to the right of "Web access protection"
  5. Click "WEB AND EMAIL"
  6. Expand "SSL/TLS"
  7. Click the "Edit" link next to "List of known certificates"
  8. Click "Add"
  9. Click "URL"
  10. Enter
  11. Choose "Auto" for "Access action"
  12. Choose "Ignore" for "Scan action"
  13. Click "OK" 3 times to close 3 dialog boxes (one click each)
  14. Restart Google Chrome

BitDefender anti-virus

To whitelist the domain:

  1. Open the Bitdefender window.
  2. Access the Protection panel.
  3. Click the Web Protection module.
  4. In the Settings tab, click the Whitelist link. A new window will appear.
  5. Enter in the corresponding field and click Add.
  6. Click Save to save the changes and close the window.
  7. Restart Google Chrome.

TLS and SSL configuration

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Type Alt + F and select Settings
  3. Scroll down and select Show advanced settings...
  4. Scroll down to the Network section and click on Change proxy settings...
  5. Select the Advanced tab
  6. Scroll down to Security category, manually check the option box for Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2
  7. Click OK
  8. Close your browser and restart Google Chrome
