The AI Sorting Assistant automatically adds labels to your incoming emails and helps you keep your inbox organized with almost no effort. It reads the content of each new conversation and applies the most relevant label, so you always know what type of email you are looking at and what deserves your attention next.

What it does

Once enabled, the sorting assistant will:

  • Identify the topic of each new email
  • Apply a label such as Action Required, Urgent, Notification or Promotions
  • Help you filter, automate, and report on your inbox more effectively

This means less manual triage and a cleaner inbox from day one.

How to turn it on

  1. Go to the AI Sorting Assistant page
  2. Toggle Enable Sorting Assistant on
  3. Select which labels you want the assistant to use
  4. You can add custom labels anytime

How it works

The assistant reads the first message of a conversation, understands what the email is about, and applies one or more labels that match. If the AI is not confident enough, it may decide not apply a "General" label, so nothing incorrect gets added.

You will see these labels directly in your inbox and inside each conversation.

Use labels to automate your inbox

Once emails are automatically labeled, you can use them to:

  • Auto archive newsletters or promotions
  • Forward certain emails
  • Mark urgent emails as important

FAQ

Which part of the message is analyzed? For now, the assistant looks at the first email in the conversation.

Does it work in multiple languages? Yes. The assistant can understand multiple languages, even if your labels are in one language.

Are old emails labeled automatically? No. The assistant applies labels only to new incoming conversations.
